Prior to the insurance business Paul spent 15 years in the music industry as a manager of platinum artists, A&R for Capitol Records, concert promoter and label owner - providing a hands on real world understanding of his clients' business.
Before moving into the music and entertainment insurance business in 2010, Cameron Smith spent 14 years in the concert industry.
His previous experience includes directing a large music festival; booking clubs, festivals, theaters and arenas for Live Nation; and serving as Assistant Director at the University of Texas Performing Arts Center. He also taught and continues to guest lecture as an adjunct professor in the music business department at UT's School of Music.
Cameron’s extensive knowledge and experience allows him to offer his clients more effective risk management solutions.
Harvey received his Bachelors of Science degree in Risk Management and Insurance from Arizona State University. In the 30+ Years since receiving that degree, all activity was within the Insurance /Risk Management field.
First career task, he created and developed two Insurance Agency subsidiaries with multiple offices, for two different Fortune 500 parent companies. Then Harvey created and developed a full service Risk Management Division for a large diverse organization. In that capacity as Risk Manager, he directed and controlled all Risk Management activities. This included Litigation Management and Loss Control activities and a million dollar self-insurance program.
In the decade prior to joining Ascend, he was the EVP of Insurance Operations for a startup National Insurance Company, specializing in the Hospitality and Entertainment Industry segment. He was involved with the development of Claims, Loss Control and Underwriting Departments, as well as insurance policy manuscripting and program development. From this startup operation, he was pivotal in the growth, success and initial certification of the company, by A.M. Best & Company.

In 2008, after surviving leukemia, Chippendale and fellow cancer-survivor Mike Peters, launched, Love Hope Strength, now the world’s largest music-centric cancer non-profit. LHS saves lives by providing free treatment to patients in developing countries while also adding donors to the national bone marrow registry through bone marrow drives -- saving lives one concert at a time.
Additionally, Chippendale partnered with Jim Digby (Director of Touring for Linkin Park) to form the Event Safety Alliance, a revolutionary non-profit within the entertainment industry. ESA is comprised of top industry professionals serving to improve safety at live events.
